I started reading Fred Brooks' The Mythical Man-Month and am enjoying the La Brea Tar Pits metaphors & writing (though I wish someone had thought to update usages of "man" everywhere to neutral terms).

I'm curious to see how much of it is going to be applicable to smaller scales–most of the commentary so far is talking about much larger scales of organizational effort. Also, Brooks so far is discussing massive engineering teams (1000s of people) collaborating on large, multi-year initiatives, where at work, it seems our problem is usually that we have small teams (5-10 people) taking on large, multi-year efforts. If anything, that should mean that the book's insights will be even more relevant to my situation, but will be interested to see how that works out.
